4th of July, 20th Year of Marriage

We celebrated the Fourth of July with the Turners and the Yangs by going to a matinee performance of school of rock a fantastically American musical. The storyline was simple but the acting was excellent and the music mostly played by kids under the age of 14 was highly enjoyable. Beforehand we had fish and chips at a restaurant near Covent Garden that is famous for having been the first restaurant to make fish and chips nearly 300 years ago!

After the show, Sue and Tom sent the kids home with the Turner’s and they went out to one of the only Michelin star rated Indian restaurants in London – Benares. Beforehand we strolled through beautiful St. James Park before arriving for our 7:30 reservations. We both had the tasting menu which never felt rushed or slow and lasted a full three hours! The food was excellent, as expected, and the portions were surprisingly large. So much so that Sue took her entire main dish home in order to save room for the delicious dessert.

We toasted our 20th anniversary in style and enjoyed recounting our many adventures along the way.
