Tom woke up early and got the tour of the breakfast buffet. Homemade jam, homemade butter, homemade honey, local cheeses, handmade desserts, you get the idea. It was a fantastic breakfast.

Afterwards we set off for the 10 minute walk into the main town to get some advice on our hiking trip. Tom wanted to attempt to summit Triglav (2,700m) but was on sure of the exact route. A super helpful person at one of the sport shops gave us advice and even booked our mountain hearts for us.

On the way back we stopped at an amazing fruit vendor for some of the freshest fruit we had ever tasted. Armed with information and food we set off for the river Soca and some exploring. We did manage to find the spot where you can jump off some cliffs into the icy river below.

Thankfully the sun was out when we arrived and the kids started the trend of jumping into the river. It seemed like no one was doing it when we arrived and by the time we left the river was full of people jumping and squealing at the freezing water.

Around five we drove back to our apartment 20 minutes away to catch the second half of USA vs. Netherlands in the World Cup final. After the match, Sue and Tom went into town to get pizzas to go and after dinner we watched Monty Python‘s Life of Brian as Tyler has been recently discovering and enjoying their absurd brand of humor.

A relaxing cozy day.
