June 17, 2018 – Dorrington, CA

It feels weird to be writing a blog about a trip that is so close to home and feel so familiar.

We woke up just outside of Arnold, California in the Compton’s cabin with their family and the Resmini’s. It is a Boy-tastic adventure with 5 boys between the ages of 9-14 and Evie!

We had a casual loungie morning of coffee, Dads -n- grads jokes, and peach pie for breakfast. Around one we set off for our days activity – a hike to Cougar Rocks.

The journey was successful, as we found the rocks overlooking the valley as far as the San Joaquin. Gorgeous! There was typical amount of complaining and then when we arrived, there was a typical amount of exuberance, followed by daring rock climbing which gave all of the parents various forms of heart attacks.

Photos taken, we began our walk home which somehow managed to have less uphill than it should have. By five we were back at the cars and by six we were back on the deck drinking sparkling beverages of one sort or another.

Brad left, and the mothers acquiesced to the screen demands, Tom, Sue and Jess designed our dream garage apartment. The moms did successfully coax a walk around the loop, however the Yatzee game never came to fruition.

Exhausted by the day everyone was snug in their beds between 10 and 11.

Happy Father’s Day, the Warriors are 3x champs!
